Paper (2018)

pages and pages of unfolding paper-flesh,

old, paper-thin skin; with little elasticity when pinched,

the skin slowly rolls back into place, smoothing out its mountain,

re-settling itself over the veins and muscles.

bobbing around that pit of my spine that feels too compressed –

no air in that bone there –

that bone there needs to

get it some space.
