Working with 50 BA3 Third Year students from Northern School of Contemporary Dance, Yewande 103 pulled together an interactive publication centring multi-disciplinary practice through felt-level engagement across choreography, improvisation, text and advocacy. Each student designed their own page, bringing their unique points of view to the following themes which Nancy and Alexandrina held:
1) gaze, altars, embodied visibility
2) the body as fluid and multiple
3) cycles of repair within systemic oppression
Our methodology set out to support the development of accessible practice and expanded choreography.
Alongside this, Alexandrina worked on an image-based score that centred embodied multiplicity. This resulted in the film work ‘An Anatomy of a Phoenix’
